Save Our Wild Salmon

Picture of salmon catch of the dayDear Dean,

Save Our Wild Salmon has been swimming into new tributaries of cyberspace lately. From blogs, to networking, to new websites, and yes, even "tweeting" - we are working to spread the message of wild salmon recovery to all corners of the internet. Below you will find a few highlights of some of our recent developments for Save Our Wild Salmon in the world wide web. Please take a look and contact us if you have more ways to extend our reach.

How you can help:
Do you have a website or blog? Facebook or Myspace? Please provide a link to our website or a blurb that links to our work. We can provide you with a cool button to embed into your site. Help us invite others to take action!

New & Improved! Save Our Wild Salmon Website - www.wildsalmon.org
It may be the same old address but we gave ourselves a serious makeover. The site is still a work in progress so take a look around and tell us what we're missing. And don't forget to Take Action! Working Snake River - www.workingsnakeriver.org
The Working Snake River (WSR) Project promotes a thoughtful, comprehensive solution to restore wild Snake River salmon by engaging businesses, fishermen and sportsmen, farmers, conservationists and citizens committed to restoring eastern Washington's lower Snake River corridor and investing in nearby communities. Check out their beautiful gallery of historic pre-dam Snake River photos.

ConservationNEXT - http://conservationnext.com
ConservationNext is an active online community and the outreach arm of The Conservation Alliance, an organization of outdoor businesses whose collective contributions support grassroots conservation organizations (like us!) and efforts to protect wild places where outdoor enthusiasts recreate. Stop by ConservationNext for more information.

New SOS Blog! - http://saveourwildsalmon.blogspot.com
You may remember this blog from such events as Extinction Stops Here: The 2007 Road Show across the West and the epic journey that was The 2008 Wild Salmon Road Show to Washington DC. The blog is now back and cooler than ever with SOS Communications Manager Emily Nuchols at the helm. Contact Emily: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Facebook - http://apps.facebook.com/causes/26965
Facebook, like many other social networking sites, has a wing dedicated to advocacy organizations and causes like Save Our Wild Salmon. Right now, SOS has enough members to be a "Guild." Become a member and help us get to "Tribe" status!

Twitter - http://twitter.com/savewildsalmon
Twitter is a free service that lets you keep in touch with people through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? Join today to start receiving savewildsalmon's updates.

A Friendly Reminder about Online Advocacy - It Works!
E-activism gets results. Don't get us wrong, personal letters and phone calls to elected leaders are still some of the best forms of at-home activism but online campaigns allow you to send direct messages instantly. How many times do you get to vote? Once every two years, at most? Sending messages online is an effective, efficient, and easy way to let you voice be heard. And we never share your info with other groups or companies. So the next time you have the opportunity to send a message, take it!

Have you contacted the President lately?
If you haven't already, please click HERE to send a message to President Barack Obama.

Thank you for your continued support.

-Bobby
