Are Wolves Causing Destruction to the Midwest?

In many areas it has been agreed upon, that wolves should be saved from extinction. I also agree. It's nice to see them roaming about in the wild. However should that same rule apply to Wisconsin and Upper Michigan?  and some other areas where wolves have adapted to well ?

In these areas they're numbers are growing to the wild.  Sounds good! You say.  Maybe in some areas. But many feel that national forest in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan, wolves should be removed or thinned out to less packs. Why? Because now that they are coming back as so many people had wanted it. The balance of nature is now becoming  unbalanced to White Tail Deer. Herds are thinning or disappearing rapidly. Also this may be affecting Young Turkeys, as they do not have a chance to become adults. So in some cases. Too much of nature of a certain species in some forested areas,  Can be a problem.  Perhaps in Canada and Father North. Or Even Alaska it would be a better thing. Where they of course already exist. In order to control such a problem we must first learn how to deal with it.

Larger areas of mass forest and animal survival can be better for predatory animals because they become adapted and wise to survival instincts. In Michigan and Wisconsin. We do not deal with Moose numbers as much or Elk as much or Cougars as much as they do in other areas  But we do have or I should say may have a wolf problem. We did have large deer numbers at one time. Not that deer have dwindled in these areas all because of the wolves. there could be many other factors here.  Although this may explain why in the 1800s or early 1900s there were so many wolves taken by cattle ranchers who lived in those areas. Also  some folks blame the DNR for bad hunting management.  The DNR may make mistakes, but in their defense, they have to deal with it from all angles when it comes to trying to keep things in balance for the public. They hear about it everyday from the public and on a political standpoint.  When in most cases those individuals are the same ones screaming that we should have these things in contrast with other wildlife.

Some how that does not seem justified. So why should the DNR catch all the heat.  Keeping nature in balance is just as tough as keeping our environment in balance. It's a hard job but someone has got to do it. Things like this are why people who really know nothing about wildlife but think they do Should really step off to the sidelines and say nothing. This is why both hunters and animal activist try to help maintain the balance of nature.  This is not a problem that will go away fast. However it is a problem that we can take control of and maintain. But without hunting.   I believe that wildlife management would only get worse.
