Salmon Crisis

Dear Dean                                                                                         ,

Thanks to your help, the Obama Administration and Members of Congress are stepping up to explore real solutions to the salmon crisis in the Columbia & Snake Rivers. Thanks to you, we are sending a clear message that Americans want effective solutions that can recover salmon, create jobs, invest in communities, and build a clean energy future.

Your continued actions - phone calls, emails, and letters - are working.

Latest Campaign News
Matt Daly of the Associated Press reported late last week that the Obama Administration has requested a 30-60 day pause in the salmon litigation to take a closer look at the details of the federal salmon plan for the Columbia & Snake Rivers currently before Judge James Redden. We have posted the story below. As you may recall, this plan was produced in the final months of the Bush Administration so it certainly deserves a close look by the new administration!

Salmon and fishing advocates are feeling encouraged by this development. We are confident that a close review by the Obama Administration will reveal an unlawful salmon plan based on bad science that will weaken the Endangered Species Act and fail to protect and restore imperiled wild salmon and steelhead.

You Can Help: Spread the Word!
This is good news! It suggests the Obama Administration wants to look at the science and may be interested in exploring real solutions that work for salmon, Northwest communities, and taxpayers nationwide. Help us continue to show strong support for salmon recovery to the Obama Administration: please take a moment to forward an action alert to your friends and family.
